The logic board (motherboard) is the most expensive component in a MacBook. When it fails, Apple typically quotes R8,000 to R18,000 for a full board replacement. We take a different approach. We diagnose at chip level using schematics and boardview software, identify the specific failed component (a capacitor, voltage regulator, IC chip, or connector), and replace just that component. This brings the repair cost down to R2,000 – R5,000 in most cases.
Common logic board issues we repair include no power or no boot conditions, random shutdowns, no display output, USB-C ports not charging, backlight failure, and kernel panics. Many of these are caused by liquid spills, power surges from load shedding, or age-related component failure.

The transition to Apple Silicon changed the MacBook repair landscape. The M-series chips integrate CPU, GPU, RAM, and Neural Engine onto a single chip package, which means certain components that were previously upgradeable or individually replaceable are now part of the SoC. We've invested in the training and tools needed to service these machines. While some repairs that were possible on Intel MacBooks are no longer feasible on M-series, we can still handle the majority of common issues including display replacement, battery replacement, keyboard replacement, port repairs, and many board-level faults.

Our liquid damage recovery process involves complete disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning of the logic board and affected components, thorough drying, and component-level testing and repair.
